Jews for Judaism

NFTY / North American Federation of Temple Youth
NFTY has touched the lives of literally thousands of young American Jews through the programs it runs and the relationships it fosters. NFTY has influenced both the Jewish community and the world as it has let its voice be heard on the issues that confront us as Jews and as human beings. NFTY alumni, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, have taken their places in the leadership of the Reform and general Jewish community, both in North America and in Israel. UJF / United Jewish Federation of San Diego
The site features a jobs page, in which synagogues and agencies can post paid job openings. The Community Calendar page allows synagogues and agencies to enter event information. The Jewish Life page contains information on holidays, candle lighting times, the weekly Torah portion, information on life cycle rituals, etc. Other features of the site include e-cards, news which is updated daily, and a social action/advocacy page in which visitors can contact legislators and editors.
URJ / Union for Reform Judaism
The Union for Reform Judaism, the central body of the Reform Movement in North America, was founded in Cincinnati in 1873 by Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise. It has grown from an initial membership of 34 congregations in 28 cities to more than 900 congregations in the United States, Canada, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. It is the largest Jewish movement in North America and represents an estimated 1.5 million Jews.
As the congregational arm of the Reform Movement, the URJ's primary mission is to create and sustain vibrant Jewish congregations wherever Reform Jews live. The Union provides leadership and vision to Reform Jews on spiritual, ethical, and political issues as well as materials and consultation for programs in the congregation. The Union also provides opportunities for individual growth and identity that congregations and individuals cannot provide by themselves, including camps and Israel programs, study kallot, and national and regional biennials.
