Shalom! Thank you for inquiring about Camp Simcha’s summer 2022 staff positions. This year we celebrate Camp Simcha’s 23rd summer & we are looking forward to four 2- week sessions. To ensure the success of our camp, we are hiring dedicated staff who support Camp Simcha’s mission:

“Camp is a place where our camper’s individual expression is celebrated within a group dynamic. Through a variety of experiences, campers will develop friendships, strengthen communication skills, and grow into the natural expression of who they are. The context will be a physically and emotionally safe and nurturing Jewish environment.”

As we continue to navigate the Covid 19 pandemic, modifications will be made for the health and safety of our staff and campers.

Camp hours: 9:00-3:30PM
Staff and campers who are not fully vaccinated will be required to wear masks when not eating, drinking or swimming.

The application should be filled out completely. Our 9 week summer season runs from June 13th - August 12th, 2022. We prefer applicants who can work for the ENTIRE SUMMER. Please do not apply for any session where you know you will be missing days and speak to the directors about any special circumstances before the start of summer. Below you will find a description of the positions available. Please indicate on the form which position(s) you are interested in.

Head Counselor (High School Graduate-Must be over 18):
- Main supervisor of a group of a maximum of 20 campers.
- Supervise other staff comprised of counselors and/or CIT’s.
- Responsible for weekly programming and scheduling.
- Arrive no later than 8:40 in the morning and be prepared to stay until 4:25 PM.
- Staff training week you will stay until 3:30.
- Attend all staff meetings on Tuesdays until 5:30PM.
- Take part in your group’s activities.
- Meet with your staff before and after camp to check-in and review.
- Provide feedback to staff.
- Help clean up camp at the end of each day.
- Have the following week’s schedule turned in by Thursday morning.
- Uphold Jewish ethics and ideals.

Counselor (11^th grade-High School Graduate):
- Assists in the supervision of a group of 20 campers.
- Arrive no later than 8:40 in the morning and be prepared to stay until 3:45 PM.
- Attend all staff meetings on Tuesdays until 5:30PM.
- Take part in your group’s activities.
- Help clean up camp at the end of each day.
- Uphold Jewish ethics and ideals.
- If under 18, you are required to provide a work permit.

Counselor-in-Training (9^th -10^th grade):
- Assists in the supervision of a group of 20 campers.
- Arrive no later than 8:45 in the morning and stay until at least 3:45.
