Camp Simcha 2025 CIT Registration & Questionnaire

Shalom! Thank you for inquiring about Camp Simcha’s summer 2025 Counselor-in-Training program. This year, we are excited to keep up the beloved traditions that have been essential to Camp Simcha for decades while also working to develop unique new ideas and fresh programs that will keep both our campers and staff smiling all summer long. To ensure the success of our camp, we are hiring dedicated staff who support Camp Simcha’s mission:

At Camp Simcha, every moment is an opportunity for growth, joy, and the discovery of what it means to thrive together.

Our 9-week summer season (including staff training) runs from June 9 - August 8th, 2025.
Attending Staff Training is required for CITs.

Staff Training: June 9 – June 13

Session 1: June 16 - 27

Session 2: July 30 - 11 (no camp on July 4)

Session 3: July 14 - 25

Session 4: July 28 - August 8

Once you have submitted your registration & questionnaire, you can expect to hear from me shortly after. I look forward to seeing you this summer!

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

Please make sure to complete the Medical Release, Swim Waiver (BGCNSD), & General Liability Waiver for each CIT.

- If your CIT has any allergies or medications, THIS MEDICATION PERMISSION FORM must be filled out, signed (by parent/guardian and a doctor) and returned to hr@templesolel.net

- If you are signing up a CIT for Session 1, please ensure you fill out THIS FIELD TRIP WAIVER. They will be going to Mission Bay Sports Center for paddle boarding, water trampolining, and swimming.

- If you are signing up CIT for Session 4, please ensure you fill out THIS FIELD TRIP WAIVER. They will be going to SkyZone in Carlsbad.

Participation Expectations for Counselor-in-Training (9th-10th Grade)

Participates fully in all camp activities, staff training and mid-session leadership training opportunities.
Makes sure that all campers in the assigned group are engaged. Identifies campers who may need additional support to be successful.
Develops positive relationships with each camper individually, creating moments to connect and engage every day. Treats each camper equally showing respect and no favoritism.
Informs the Head Counselor and seeks feedback from the Leadership Team when challenges arise: how they are navigated, what works well, what is a struggle. Problem solves with the team.
Is curious and thoughtful about learning at camp. Seeks feedback or assistance when necessary. Offers help with generosity and enthusiasm.
Participates and engages actively in all one-on-one meetings with the Assistant Director, group meetings with the counseling team, CIT meetings, and staff meetings.
Engages with the entire CIT cohort, actively participating in bonding experiences, fun activities, and cohort field trips.
Collaborates with fellow CITs, Counselors, and the Head Counselor to plan group activities throughout the day.
Completes any and all other tasks, activities, and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Counselor, or Leadership Team.
