URJ Introduction to Judaism is a course offered in partnership between the Union for Reform Judaism and local Reform congregations for anyone interested in exploring Judaism - singles, interfaith couples, those considering conversion and Jews looking for adult-level basics. This class introduces the fundamentals of Jewish thought and practice in 16-20 weeks. Topics include Jewish holidays and life cycle events, theology and prayer, Israel, history and Hebrew.

At Temple Solel, the Introduction to Judaism class is an 18-session course. The class meets in the Coffee House of Temple Solel, 3575 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff by the Sea on Wednesday evenings from 6:15pm to 8:15pm.

Class Meets: October 18, 25; November 1, 8; December 6, 13; January 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; February 7, 21, 28; March 7, 14, 21; March 31 – 2nd night seder – 18th class; Shabbaton Date TBD.

Tuition for the 18-week course is $200 for a URJ-Affiliated Reform Congregation member / $280 for non-members. A non-refundable $50 registration fee is included. The tuition fee allows for either one or two people to attend, and we encourage couples to attend together or singles to invite an interested friend. You will also have to purchase the required textbooks for the class (approx. $120) after the class begins.   You may register online through the URJ website;
